1. Who We Are

iNutri Guide ("the App", "we", "us", "our") is developed and operated by KarminDev, an independent iOS developer. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at moryosatur@gmail.com.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Data you provide directly

• Name and profile photo (optional)
• Year of birth, height, body weight, and target weight
• Health goals, dietary preferences, allergies, and medical conditions (optional)
• Meals logged, including name, macronutrients, and food photos
• Daily water intake logs
• Messages sent to the Lumi AI Coach

2.2 Data collected automatically

• App crash logs and diagnostic information (via iOS built-in reporting)
• Anonymous usage events (e.g., features used) — only if you have enabled Analytics sharing in iOS Settings → Privacy → Analytics

2.3 Data we do NOT collect

• We do not collect precise location data
• We do not access your contacts, calendar, or microphone
• We do not use third-party advertising SDKs
• We do not share or sell your personal data to third parties

3. How We Use Your Data

• To personalise your experience — after you grant permission, relevant profile details may be sent to our AI service to generate nutrition recommendations tailored to you
• To operate the app — storing your meal logs, hydration, weight history, profile, and preferences locally on your device
• To provide AI coaching — after you grant permission and actively use an AI feature, meal photos, meal descriptions, chat messages, nutrition summaries, and relevant profile details are sent to OpenAI via our secure Firebase Cloud Function for analysis
• To process subscriptions — handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit; we never see your payment details
• To improve the app — anonymous crash data and aggregate analytics

4. Data Storage

Your profile, meal logs, hydration, weight history, app settings, and saved meal photos are stored locally on your device using iOS UserDefaults. This data stays on your device unless you explicitly use an AI feature or otherwise share it.

When you grant permission and actively use AI features (meal scan, meal text analysis, Lumi chat, or daily insights), the relevant data is transmitted to our Firebase Cloud Function, which forwards it to OpenAI's API. This transmission is encrypted in transit via HTTPS. We do not permanently store your AI conversations or meal photos on our servers.

5. Third-Party Services

• OpenAI, L.L.C. — powers AI meal analysis, meal text analysis, daily insights, and Lumi coaching. Data sent only after permission and user action: meal descriptions, meal photos as base64 images, chat messages, nutrition summaries, and relevant profile details such as age, height, weight, goals, activity level, dietary preferences, allergies, medical conditions, medications, pregnancy/lactation status, eating disorder history, and nutrition targets. Subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
• Firebase (Google LLC) — our Cloud Functions backend that securely proxies AI requests to OpenAI. No AI request data is persisted by our Cloud Function after the response is returned. Subject to Firebase Privacy Policy.
• Apple StoreKit — handles all subscription purchases. We receive only a confirmation token, never payment details.

6. Data Retention

Your on-device data is retained until you delete the app or use the "Reset Data" function within the app. AI conversation data is not stored on our servers after the response is returned.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data — all data is visible within the app
• Delete your data — use Settings → Reset Data inside the app, or delete the app from your device
• Export your data — contact us and we will provide an export within 30 days
• Object to processing — contact us and we will discuss how to accommodate your request

8. Children's Privacy

iNutri Guide is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Health Data Disclaimer

iNutri Guide is a general wellness application. It is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making changes to your diet or nutrition plan.

The app does not write to or read from Apple Health (HealthKit). Your nutrition data remains entirely within the iNutri Guide app.

10. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption for all network requests and secure storage practices on Firebase. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, with an in-app notice. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
